je lis trop (which means "I read (too) much" in French) was created in 2020. I called it "a newsletter with one girl's thoughts on certain books at a particular time." Rather than writing reviews in a traditional sense, I wanted to show how the stories I read became part of my interior world and share my deeply subjective associations. Most importantly, I wanted to create a distinct atmosphere so each issue felt like a vivid picture.
Ever since those early first issues, I dreamed of turning the newsletter into a physical publication. This magazine is a three-year archive of monthly issues, each focused on a specific theme and featuring at least three book recommendations along with accompanying visuals.
je lis trop is for readers who are drawn to thoughtful, concept-driven stories about books, offering an alternative to the quick recommendations of listicles. It will appeal to those who focus on literary fiction but are nevertheless curious about other genres.
